Incorporated in the fall of 1999, Fielder & Callahan, LLC is a
partnership dedicated to the production of artistic and creative
stonework with a traditional approach to methods of construction
and design. David Fielder and Travis Callahan received their Master Craftsmen
Certificates from the professional Dry
Stone Walling Association of Great Britain (DSWA-UK) in the
summer of 2002 after a rigorous exam. The achievement was a
culmination of several years of work during which they received
their Initial, Intermediate and Advanced Certificates prior to
receiving their Master Craftsmen Certificates. The partnership
exemplifies the ancient art of walling of each location. The team has an
extensive portfolio of projects in the Upper Valley, as well as more elaborate estate
work in Nantucket where they often work in the winter months.
Fielder & Callahan's stonework has a wide range of influences
including the ancient dry stone walling techniques of Great
Britain , as well as farm walls in New England. In addition,
each member brings academic focus which plays in the conception, execution
and completion of each project. The team is dedicated to the education of
the public in the techniques and traditions of dry stone walling. They have
participated in public demonstrations at the Quechee Scottish
festival, the Southern New Hampshire Scottish games and Celtic
Music Festival. Fielder & Callahan have traveled travel to Scotland
to continue their education in dry stone walling by studying
under resident Master Craftsmen Dave Goulder, George Gunn and Bruce Curtis. |
